Favorite Friendships // Karolina Dean & Nico Minoru

This is my dream cast for the Runaways movie. Now the actors/actresses here were chosen based on how similar I think they look to the actual characters and not their acting abilities.

Alex: I feel out of my three choices Donald would be the best. It was hard for me to find young black actors who I think could play Alex, but Donald seems like he would be just like Alex in real life.

Chase: I feel Ryan Hansen looks like Chase but at the same time too old.  Alex Butler also has the look and I think he could pull off Chase. I had way too many choices for this. Zac Efron/Dylan Sprouse/Cody Linley/Lucas Till pretty much all the blonde pretty boys. But I think I’ll go with David on this.

Gert: Everyone thinks Mae should be Gert and I think we’ll all be upset if she doesn’t play our favorite sarcastic, velociraptor-empath. I’m not too sure about Kara, I wanna see her act more. And I loved Linda as Velma in the Scooby-Doo movies. They all just have this look about them.

Karolina: I know Karolina is supposed to be the model-type blonde and the first person I pictured flying through air was Diana. Gemma looks a bit scary here but she’s really pretty. And Brie, I just liker her attitude. I think she can play Karolina well. I also thought Jennifer Lawerence/Ashley Greene/Emma Roberts/Kristen Dunst/Hilary Duff/Amanda Seyfried for the part Kinda a tie between Amanda and Diana at this point.

Xavin: So we know that Xavin can change shape (and sex) at will for Karolina. So for the male version I have John Boyega Ashley Bashy Thomas and Michael B. Jordan. I would actually like to see John as MaleXavin. When he’s just how I had pictured Xavin to be with this hard looking face. And that’s what all three men have.

As for Female Xavin I could not get the picture of a brunette flying, hair billowing in the wind. I don’t know if I want Keke to play female Xavin. I don’t really like her acting. Zoe is maybe too old (not in a bad way) Antonia was my first choice. But then I had saw Kylie and thought she’d make a good Xavin. But she needs to work on her acting. It was terrible in The Sitter.

Molly: We are going to need a tough little girl who can kick some ass. So ofcourse Chloe was first to mind. But I think she may be too old to play Molly. Bailee kinda scares me but she has a baby face. Maisie is brilliant in Game of Thrones and I think she can pull off Molly. Well when she’s angry.

Nico: There has been alot of disagreement with the actress playing Nico because of race. I really don’t know any Asian actresses. For the few I do know (there they are. Jenna was always my first thought for Nico. But I also had Elizabeth Gillies in mind. After hearing about the race issue I though that Ellen Wong would be a great choice. I enjoyed her in Scott Pilgrim and wished she had more screen time.

Victor: Ahh our Hispanic Cyborg. I’m not too sure about Avan anymore. He’s too soft to play Victor. But this is for appearance. And thought he’d be good. Jean-Luc on the other hand, I think would be hard enough (whoa) to play Vic. Justin is really growing (Double Whoa) and by the time the movie starts shooting he’s be a great Victor, keeping the Hispanic background in mind. He does sound pretty good as Diego.  

All in all it was kinda difficult finding acting based on race. And this has taught me that I should and could never be a casting director. Lol
